Support Agencies
A number of agencies and people support the life and work of the school. The Hokonui Runaka, Public Health Nurse, Visiting Teachers, Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB), Resource Teacher of Literacy (RTLit), Youth Workers, NZ Police, School Chaplain and Psychologists are just some of the people who work alongside the school and the home in matters that concern student welfare. The principal welcomes inquiries from parents who would like to receive help or guidance from any of these agencies.
Absences
In the interest of child safety and legal requirements we require you to phone or text the school, before 9am, when a child is absent, late or is leaving school early. We do require a short reason for this also. In the event of a child not arriving at school and the school not being contacted we will make every attempt to contact parents. Continual absences or lateness must be referred to the Ministry of Education Attendance Officer.

Information Technology
At the beginning of Year 7, the cyber safety agreement will be sent home and then once returned, all students will be able to use our school internet. Along with this, we also send home a consent form about trips and also the use of photos for publicity.
Cellphones/Tablets/Other Devices
All cellphones/devices are to be handed in to the teacher before school starts each day. There will be an allocated area in each classroom for this to happen. The school will not be responsible for lost, broken or stolen devices brought to school and this is noted in our cybersafety policy.
Facebook
The school has a Facebook page that is updated regularly with important information. To "like" this page, click here.
Financial Matters
We recognise that for some parents the costs involved at the beginning of the school year represents a considerable outlay over a short period time. We work on a invoicing system and statements will be issued at regular intervals beginning in March. Payments by direct credit or time payments can be made through the ASB bank.
Parents should not hesitate to make contact with the Principal where there are financial difficulties or a query about a request for money.
Fundraising options will be available to cover camp costs.
Stationery
Stationery packs containing all the stationery for the year are sold at the school for a very reasonable price. Half of the stationery is kept until the beginning of term 3.
Technology
All students will attend Technology classes. In technology there are additional costs for the materials used. Students keep all objects and food made in the Technology rooms. $100 covers the cost of materials and food for the entire year.

The Board of Trustees seeks the support of parents in the payment of a voluntary donation of $50 per child or $75 per year for two or more children from one family.
